Best Review on Big Boss 700 Watt Juicer Black
Have been juicing 3-4 times a day ever since it arrived. It has worked great! The pulp comes out really dry, and has a large catch bin. There are 2 speeds, which is great for different fuit/veggie textures. Clean up is a snap. Remove 3 pieces and rinse with warm water and a drop of soap and your done. The filter basket comes with a little brush that helps, but the brush will need to be replaced after a while. I am super happy with my purchase and glad I didn't spend double on the other juicers that are nearly equilvalent in function. The Big Boss also looks good on my counter, and fits under the cabinets.
Update-still using my BIG BOSS daily, still love it! I read other reviews about the motor burning out...DO NOT push on the veggies with the plunger.. Guide them in, let the juicer blade do all the work.. Somehow it just sucks them right in. If there is something stuck in the feeder, gently give it a couple pushes and then let off. I think others are putting too much pressure on the blade and motor. I am not having any issues. It works GREAT!
Ok - I received this in the mail 3 weeks ago and have used it every day since. It is an EXCELLENT juicer. It's not very loud, leaves very dry pulp/pommace from the juicing process and can juice even greens very effectively. I do not use a cup or glass to catch the juice as, just with every juicer, there can be mild splatter so I use a small bowl to catch the juice and then pour it into a glass - haven't lost a drop yet.
BalasHapusThe mouth size is perfect as it can take a whole apple, pear, kiwi, sweet potato, up to 4 carrots at a time, entire bunch of parsley, etc without any need for cutting.
To increase longevity of the machine, I use the lower speed (it has low and high) which is still plenty fast, and juice everything slowly. I've seen a few reviews where people have burnt the motor and my thinking was that they had attempted to juice too quickly (which will waste juice also) in the same manner that a commercial juicer might respond at a juice bar or juice counter at a health center. Non-commercial appliances, I think, can likely take less of a beating or will at least last longer if the motor isn't over-taxed.
Cleanup is better than most juicers, but cleaning any juicer filter always requires a little effort. Using a scrub brush that I keep next to the sink just for this purpose - I can disassemble, clean, dry and put it back together in about 3 minutes. The key is to use a scrub brush on the outside of the filter thoroughly first - then the inside of it only takes a few seconds. I actually got rid of my Juiceman juicer because cleanup was such a huge pain. This is not the same at all.
I've recommended this to several people including all of my family.
I strongly recommend this juice if you get the chance as it provides AMAZING energy, virility, sense of well being and mental clarity.
1 whole bunch parsley
2 PACKED cups raw spinach (4 oz)
2 carrots
1 sweet potato
1 small apple
1 kiwi
This creates about 24 oz of juice and I use it for breakfast daily. Doesn't taste bad at all and has outstanding effects.
This was bought for my mom. She just got a Vitamixer for Christmas and absolutely loves it BUT its a mixer, not a juicer. So, she bought this. She loves it and uses it almost everyday.
BalasHapusThis is my first juicer. I researched them online for months and decided on this Big Boss Juicer based on the reviews. It has met my expectations and juiced everything nicely that I've put through it without any problems. I am so glad I researched and decided on this machine. I have been making a glass of nutritious juice everyday since I got it and it is well worth the money I spent on it.
BalasHapusI wanted to start juicing because I'm not hungry when I get up in the morning and can't eat. I don't get hungry until the middle of the afternoon so I usually only eat 2 meals a day. And since I don't try to eat healthy I know I'm not getting the servings of fruits and vegetables I need every day. All of the great nutrients and vitamins in fruits and vegetables made me think juicing would be the way to go. I was right. This juicer is all I need. I researched the benefits of fruits and vegetables and everyday I make up a drink that contains a combination of what I keep on hand. There are all kinds of recipes you can get for free online that tell you how to combine the fruits and vegetables and the health values. The juices do not come out crystal clear and take on the color of the peel - I use Golden Delicious Apples and my juice was greenish and opaque - but was so delicious. I agree with another review that states once you've had fresh juiced apples you won't go back to store bought! It's fun to combine different vegetables and fruits for the nutrients and end up with a great tasting cocktail of blended flavors. But you will surprise your tastebuds when you juice just apples, just oranges, or just tomatoes. It does not taste like the store bought juices! I wondered about all of the fiber going into the pulp bin. The juice does not come out with any pulp in it but I noticed after drinking a glass of juice there are particles left on the sides of the glass. So I believe you still get fiber with your juice even though you can't "feel" it in your mouth.
The reviews I read said this machine was easier to clean than most, and this machine is a breeze to clean. Before I even drink the juice I've just made, I empty the pulp bin, dunk everything into warm soapy water, use a brush to clean the filter/blade, rinse everything and I'm done in less than 5 minutes. So to juice and clean up takes me less than 10 minutes which is less than it usually takes to fix anything to eat besides cereal! The little brush that comes with this juicer is he only thing that is low quality. It did not hold up at all. I just chunked it and use the dish brush I keep at the sink.
All that remains to be seen is how long it will last, and it seems to be a well built machine.

This is a great juicer! I just bought it and am using it to lose weight and replace meals. I am impressed with this juicer - but I've never used any other one before.
BalasHapusHowever, I did want to mention that you can get this juicer for cheaper! I found it on here a few days ago and after reading the reviews, I decided this was the juicer for me. I didn't purchase it at the time. Today, I was browsing at WalMart and ran across this juicer for $48 instead of $75! Thought I might be able to save someone $25. :)
I was skeptical about whether this juicer was going to crap out on me after a month of consistent usage. But it has stood up very very well and for only around 50 dollars.
BalasHapusMy impressions and tips:
1) A juicer is NOT a blender. I repeat, a juicer is NOT a blender. You can't make smoothies in it. It only makes juice. (NO bananas, NO ice, NO super starchy foods). (You CAN juice something then BLEND it with bananas or ice or whatever)
2) A juicer is NOT a food processor. You can't puree foods in this. It only makes juice.
3) Yes it is pretty big. It's about the size of my kitchen aid food processor.
4) Yes it is powerful. There are suction cup things that kindof hold it in place, but I just make sure to keep a hand on the machine so it doesn't fly around by accident.
5) Yes it is plastic. That doesn't bother me much because the shredder/strainer is metal.
6) Wash IMMEDIATELY. I use the little brush that came with it. I run under hot water and make small circular motions on the strainer to make sure I get all the angles. It does take about 2-3 minutes to clean off, plus I rinse the other 3 parts -lid, pusher, and juice collector funnel (I put a plastic bag in the pulp bin so I can just throw it away).
7) Let the machine do the job. Do NOT force the plunger through the machine. It will juice too fast and not extract all the juice from the pulp. I usually take around 5 seconds to juice an entire apple at once (I DO cut it into chunks though and throw all of it in at once). Also, if you force the plunger in, it can scape on the shredder, which is BAD. So I typically slowly feed it through to juice the food, then I kindof pull it back out an inch or two when I turn it off and let it slow down so it doesn't rub on the shredder.
8) There are two speed settings. I've used both. 1 for soft foods like strawberries, 2 for harder stuff like beets.
9) Follow hard foods with soft foods you're juicing. Example, follow beets with strawberries, or carrots with apples, and vice versa so you can get the max amount of juice from your hard items. (The juice from the soft items will help dilute the juice from the hard items and flow better into your cup.)
10) There is a LITTLE bit of splashing when the juice runs into the cup. But I just put a paper towel spread out below the cup and spout.
11) It is pretty loud, but if you have a medium/large house, I wouldn't worry about it. Or I guess you could take it into the garage if you didn't want to wake the house (or maybe you do want to wake them up for breakfast).
All in all, I am VERY happy with this little machine, there are a few quirks, but I don't find them annoying at ALL, and it is MUCH easier to clean than my food processor actually.
