Read First Before Buy Cuisinart CJE 500 Compact Juice Extractor
This is my first juicer and I was contemplating getting the Breville one that is Amazon's best seller. I found this one. While it had a lot less reviews, I love that people commented that it is easy to clean. So I went with this choice.
I just finish using it and it is awesome. I played it safe with one apple, one orange, and several carrots. It was delicious!
I personally thought this juicer was easy to clean as well. The juicer breaks down in multiple parts. I've tried rising it with warm water and it cleans it up real nice but still needed a little soap to clean it. The only part I find hard to clean is the juice catcher. Not only is it small, it is very angular, making it hard. But it still isn't too bad.
Overall, I like it. I'll report back if anything comes up.
Edit:
Been using it a few times a day since purchase. I notice that lots of the mush gets stuck in the clear part of the juicer instead of falling down to the rear container. Not a big deal since it is still easy to clean. Just weird that majority of it collects there instead of the rear container.
This is good starter juicer for those new to juicing or plan on being occasional juicers. I purchased this juicer based on the price (I had a $100 gift card) and the fact that it was compact. Our kitchen is small and it sits on the counter. We make juice about 2-3 times a week. You can easily prepare fruits and veggies, juice 'em and clean up in about 20 minutes. The motor is quiet as well. My previous experience with juicing was with my former house mate's Breville, which was noisier and a pain to clean. As others have noted, some of the pulp and skin, especially with apples, gets lodged in the upper clear chamber, instead of heading down to the pulp container. I've noticed you don't get much juice at all with leafy greens such as parsley and kale. I'm going to take one reviewer's suggestion and add a bit of water for leafy greens.
BalasHapusFor fruits such as oranges and lemons, I remove most of the rind and cut them into halves or fourths so they don't jam the machine. I followed the advice of a friend who has a Omega juicer and took the pulp and ran it through the juicer again. This results in a little extra juice and drier pulp. I mix a little pulp (usually carrot or kale) back into the juice so we get a little fiber. This week I saved some carrot/kale pulp and used it in a chicken meatball recipe with delicious results. Try sneaking some in meatloaf or burgers instead of breadcrumbs! I am really enjoying our latest kitchen gadget, down to the last drop.
So far I have loved this juicer. Works great for the price. My only complaint is the pulp from the veggies gets stuck on the clear lid instead of all falling into the compartment to catch it, but I have not had any problems from it.

This juicer is excellent for the price! I would definitely recommend this juicer. Although all juicers are a pain to clean, this juicer is very easy to clean. Love it!!
BalasHapusI'm a sucker for cocktails/juices with fresh components. It never occurred to me there was an affordable, compact juicer on the market that would enable me to make these at home. Have had the unit for a week, have made four of the recipes provided in the manual and I can see I'll be using it daily until it dies. Fits the counter top really nicely, is unassuming (it resembles the child of a keurig and a food processor) and is strikingly quiet considering it's essentially a wood chipper for fruits/veggies. After the first time you clean it (note that manual fails to mention you can and will need to clean the top Cuisinart shell), the next time is really easy (takes about 2-3 minutes, which I do while I let the juice chill in the fridge before drinking). Highly recommend.
BalasHapusI have now had this juicer for a couple of weeks and I have to say I have been enjoying the benefits of creating a variety of juices. Additionally, this machine is very easy to clean. It takes me approximately half an hour total to make my juice and clean all the parts in the sink. My only critique is that if you are going to make enough juice for two it is better to use a measuring cup that fits underneath the spout as there is often a great deal of foam that fills the top portion of the 16oz container provided with the machine.
BalasHapusshe loves it!!! easy to operate and easy to clean and made her very happy. nice and compact as well.
