Best Review on Hurom HU 100 Slow Juicer White

I've had the Hurom juicer a couple of weeks and am very pleased with it. It is much quieter, produces much more juice and drier ejection pulp than our centrifugal juicer. The juice is not completely without pulp, but we enjoy the texture that the pulp provides. It also means we are getting the nutrition that is contained in the pulp as well. For stringy veges, experience has shown that it is well worth the little extra time to string the celery and chop the kale stalks, for example, to make everything flow without a hitch.
The citrus juices are to die for. Way better than the fresh-squeezed store variety. And the apple and ginger juice with seltzer water is heavenly. My family loves and eats lots of veges, but we still find it hard to get the recommended 5 to 6 daily servings. The juicer helps with reaching that goal. The machine is relatively easy to clean, but still is not something I would want to do a couple of times a day. I have had no difficulty cleaning the screen with the brush provided. The upright footprint and design is small and attractive enough to leave up on the kitchen counter all the time. It wasn't an easy decision to spend so much money on a juicer, but I believe it will earn back its cost since I have to buy less produce to make the same amount of juice. Also, who can count the cost benefits resulting from better health.
Having lost over 120 pounds eating whole, nutritious foods and exercising six days a week, cross-training with boot camp, hiking, yoga and Pilates, kayaking, snowshoeing, Zumba, weight lifting, etc. I'm already pretty darn healthy with boundless energy. I eat primarily a Paleo diet, with lots of wild fish, grass-fed beef, organic chicken and tons of vegetables, especially greens like kale, broccoli, etc. Snacks include berries, seaweed, Greek yogurt, full-fat cheese and nuts. Some very limited whole grains like brown rice and quinoa and legumes like chick peas and black beans. I am a member of the National Weight Control Registry, which tracks people who have lost a lot of weight and kept it off.
BalasHapusThis juicer has been my best purchase for my health in years. I had tried a juicer once before and found it a pain in the neck. But -- as a breast cancer survivor -- I recently watched "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and read about the Gerson method/cancer therapy, which obviously does not work for everyone but seems to work for some. Having researched the issues with speed blending and centrifugal juicers (heat generated creates nutrient loss), I read countless reviews and determined that this Hurom processing method is the best, with the possible exception of the Norwalk juicer which is huge, difficult to clean, and costs over $2,400. Many advise drinking -- and "chewing" -- the juice right away after juicing and I do this whenever possible to get the most antioxidants.
The Hurom has a small footprint and looks great on the counter. Leave it there: you are going to use it. It's the same, I understand, as the Omega, but I like the handle which is on this model. The Hurom is exceptionally fast. You do NOT need to push vegetables and fruits into the juicer, merely drop them in the chute. My usual mix is kale, celery, cucumber, carrot, green apple, kiwi and ginger. Organic is best!!
The machine cleans in minutes. You simple twist to dissemble, rinse quickly in hot water, and use an included toothbrush-like tool to quickly brush off the debris. Three minutes. No matter how wonderful a juicer is, you are not going to use it if it takes 20 minutes to clean.
I use it daily and really crave that fresh vegetable juice now. Delicious! Foam on top and pulp in the juice are minimal. I have had no problem with greens, but have taken the usual advice to make sure to mix them with other organic vegetables such as celery and carrot which help "push" them through. Often skins are loaded with nutrients, but be sure to check for each vegetable as some are toxic.
The Hurom Slow Juicer is a fantastic product and can really help your family eat healthier. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Highly recommended!!
I juice every day and could not be happier with this juicer! I use it to juice carrots, greens, apples, berries.... I have no problem juicing any of these and the ejected pulp is very dry. It is also very fast, I have spent a lot of time in the past using other juicers that take a lot of time. This is as fast as a high-power centrifugal juicer, but only works at 80 rpm! A great way to get high quality juice, fast. My favorite part about it is how easy it is to clean. I can easily be done cleaning in 3 minutes! I have owned many different types of juicers and nothing I have ever used compares to this. If you are serious about juicing, this is a great investment that you will be happy with.
BalasHapusThis is the first juicer I've ever owned. I wanted to purchase the Omega 8003, but it wasn't available and the merchant suggested this juicer as it was just coming out and said that it was the newest and best juicer design. I have not been disappointed. I have been juicing most every day since August 2009, so that's a good 6 months so far. It juices leafy greens and hard vegetables alike with no problems. I do find that with lettuce and spinach I either have to use the tamper to push it down or chase it with a carrot and then the auger grabs the carrot and everything goes through. The item title says it's a "slow" juicer, but I find that it's very fast and steady with little foam or noise. I would say that excluding veggie preparation I have 32 oz of juice in less than 3 minutes. I also like that there is a "kill-switch" in that the upper white part that you push the food through has to be locked into place before the machine will turn on. The only problems I have with it is that it gets plugged up when I juice pineapple and I have to cut celery very small because that tends to plug it up too. It also comes with a fine and a coarse strainer basket, so you have the choice between no fiber in your juice or a little fiber.
BalasHapusI'm extremely happy with my Hurom juicer. To me, it's the best of both worlds between the fast juicing Breville and the slow juicing Green Star. The Hurom is a fast juicer, SUPER EASY cleanup, fun and easy to use, and I love it. I get plenty of juice in one session, which is great. It quickly and efficiently juices greens like kale and romaine while flawlessly juicing cucumbers, apples, and other "watery" fruits. The pulp varied from dry (hearty leafy greens, like kale) to semi-moist (romaine, apples, etc). The juice typically had little foam, but it would depend on what I juiced to determine that. I like to strain my juice quickly with a nut milk bag after making it anyway, so if there is a little pulp or foam on it, it gets held back when straining. I love the warranty, too.
BalasHapusI have three juicers: Green Star, Breville and the Hurom. If I didn't have any of them... knowing what I know now, I'd get the Hurom. (I have a video on my blog discussing the three of them.)
PS. It also juices wheat grass, which I haven't done, but have heard it's capable of it. That's great!
PPS. Their customer service is fantastic and responsive.
