Read First Before Buy Nesco American Harvest Juicer Blender
I've been using this blender/juicer for two months now and it has proven to be a real workhorse in the kitchen. I don't do much juicing, but blending we do a lot of -- from homemade smoothies in the summer, to using it to whip up protein drinks after a workout. Everything I've thrown at it so far it has handled with ease!
The unit itself is built very solidly; I am impressed with how sturdy both the base and the blender jar are. Most blenders nowadays have a lightweight jar that I'm scared to death will break if I even so much as drop it. Not this guy -- it has a very thick glassed jar that can take a beating. In fact after I accidentally dropped it on the floor from the counter and it survived I can attest to the fact that 3-4 foot drops are no problem for this little guy!
It basically has just three speeds -- fast, faster and pulse. I find that those three are all I really need anyway. I never saw the point in having tons of speeds -- you are either blending or you aren't, the speed isn't going to matter a whole heck of a lot in most cases.
In the end, I highly recommend it as a great kitchen gadget for your home, or for that perfect wedding/birthday gift for the kitchen lover we all know!

This was a big hit for the entire family. My son was "juicing" all sorts of fruits and vegetables, mixing them into yogurt, making smoothies and more.
BalasHapusThe plastic parts are delicate as other reviewers mentioned, but the product itself is not that expensive so I expect they have to cut somewhere. Personally, I would rather use a cheaper appliance because if later I decide not to use it that often, then at least I don't feel like I have a $200 unit under the counter. So, for the price, it's worth what you get.
That being said, one must realize that to get one cup of apple juice, you may need 4 apples.... so this is not the most frugal product. If you are on a budget, this may indeed be an item kept under the sink for special occasions. Most people cannot afford to be "juicing" on a daily basis.
We have no complaints though, it certainly does everything it set out to do, was fun to use, motivates kids to try new vegetables (in a juice) or to get creative with smoothies. I've no complaints about the product.

BalasHapusI spent a lot of money on a KitchenAid mixer, which began leaking within months and never quite chopped up all those little pieces of ice when I made my green smoothies. So I pulled out this juicer, not expecting much - and was blown away! The strength of the blades is amazing. It reduces ice and frozen fruit to perfect smoothie consistency within seconds. It's quiet, and the suction cups on the bottom of the housing keep the unit from sliding around. I love it! Can't wait to try the juicer portion, but the blender alone makes it worth the cash.
