Read First Before Buy Breville BJE510XL Fountain Multi Speed 900 Watt
This is my second juicer, first one was by Waring and I remember it being very loud. I used it only couple of times and than got annoyed with it and it spent couple of years on my counter without being used at all. Than we had a fire and Waring was destroyed and I wasn't upset at all.
Now acupuncturist suggested for my sick daughter to drink fresh juices everyday. I was petrified. After a lot of research I decided to give Breville Ikon a try. It's been a week now and I absolutely love it! From the moment my 2.5 year old said "Mommy, juice!" to the moment when she actually was drinking fresh apple juice passed only about 1 minute. I keep all my fruits cleaned on the big dish on my counter, I just grabbed 3 small apples and voila! I have to admit that I didn't core them or anything, just threw them in whole - this was faster and easier, because my daughter could change her mind any minute. Now I' using it 4-5 times a day for the whole family and it's really an enjoyable experience. Cleaning is very easy and it looks just great. Don't look any further!

1. I found that it's even easier to clean all plastic parts with the baby bottle brush that has a sponge on the tip.
2. I'm experimenting with new fruits and vegetables everyday and wanted to share couple of recipes that came out really tasty. I'm also experimenting with the vegetables that don't impact the taste too much, so my kids don't refuse it. So far these combinations were a huge hit amongst them:
Peach-Mango-Apple-Carrot+1 tsp of heavy cream for beta-carotene absorption
Apple-Sugar Plums-Strawberry-Pumpkin+ cream
Zucchini-apple-sweet potato+cream (you can spice it up with some cinnamon if you like)

Also, I never could feed any kind of squash or pumpkin to my kids before, they just wouldn't it it. I decided to try and put a butternut squash into the juicer with apples and carrots and it tasted really great with a tiny beat of cream too. Kids really liked it.

This wonderful juicer works great on sprouts too. I juiced alfalfa and sweet pea sprouts on the lowest speed and got pretty good amount of juice out of them, more than I expected. I'm going to try juicing the wheat grass soon, I'm pretty sure it'll do fine, after it did so well with alfalfa which is very fine and doesn't look juicy at all.

My daughter's latest labs are showing that we've been able to manage her acidosis with juices only, no meds at all, and this is fantastic!
I got this juicer after reading a lot of reviews like the ones posted here in amazon. It is really helpful to people thinking of buying something to read what people who own it think about it.
BalasHapusI got this because of the 5 speed setting, the safety feature and the accessories that came with it. Unfortunately when I got mine, it was a display at the store and they didn't give me the box, the manual, the adapter for when you want to use a glass instead of the really nice pitcher and the cleaning brush. They gave me a discount so I bought the juicer, figuring I could purchase the missing parts separately.
I looked up the manual online and I used it to juice carrots, apples, pears, beets, grapes, celery etc that same night. Make sure you line the pulp container with a plastic grocery bag to make clean up easy. It was great! And cleaning up is really a breeze compared to my other juicer. Just rinse the parts and use a stiff brush to clean the shredder with a little dish soap.
So, on to the missing parts. I called Breville customer service and although I was on hold for a LONG time, they did send me the parts FREE OF CHARGE, not even shipping. I offered to pay for it but they said "NO PROBLEM. We'll send it to you free of charge." I got it after 3 days. That is how GREAT their customer service is!!! I highly recommend this juicer and I'm sure to get more Breville appliances when the ones I have need replacement! Customer service like this is really something worth giving a good review for!!! And now using the brush to clean it makes clean up even easier!

BalasHapusBuilt very well with outstanding attention to detail, solid stainless steel feed chute, thick and mirror finished acrylic parts that do not have difficult to wash nooks. Juicing carrots left no stains and washing with paper towel and few drops of mild detergent took about 3 minutes for acrylic parts and 5 minutes for the basket with help of soft brush. Locking bar is solid metal with safety - motor will not start if bar is not raised to lock position to prevent any accidental startup. Speed dial has solid feel and digital info display is very cool looking. After choosing speed the power requirement is automatically adjusting according to load. Unit is slightly heavy yet within a reason. Cutter assembly has simple yet solid lock and is easy to remove - no more pulling apart stuck cutter basket and motor base wondering when you are finally going to break it. Pulp from veggies comes out with little moisture and not dripping wet, so efficiency appears to be quite good. Amazon shipping came in double carton and manufacturer also uses very thick padding therefore no problem with shipping and no damage of any kind. In one sentence, this juicer is practically designed, works very well and looks good.
I look forward to using this juicer every day. I used to own a more expensive juicer but cleaning it was such a pain I stopped juicing and gave it away. After doing tons of research I settled on the Ikon Juicer which is just perfect. My biggest concern was cleaning. It takes about 10-15 minutes to clean by hand but you can rinse the parts and just put it in the dishwasher. The pulp comes out dry so all the juice is extracted pretty much. I disagree with the complaint that people have that the juicer is too loud. It's not that bad actually. The design is very cool looking compared to other juicers. I've used it for about 2 weeks and made a variety of juices and I see and feel the difference in myself. Lets face it, if you're single, cooking and cleaning are not at the top of your list. The Ikon lets you get all the nutrients from fruits and vegetables in their purest form immediately without the headache of cooking and cleaning. If you are serious about your health, spend the money and buy the Breville Ikon Juicer. You won't regret it.

BalasHapusI received this juicer as a gift from my husband for Christmas. I had been reading a lot of reviews online on various juicers and other Breville juicers had gotten high marks. This is a newer variable speed version, and that is a great feature. I have juiced carrots, parsnips, cabbage, celery, pears, tomatoes, and apples, and am amazed at how dry the pulp is when it comes out! The unit is quiter than my blender, so the noise isn't a factor. Also, it takes me about 5 min to wash the 5 parts after juicing, since I don't have a dishwasher. I must also mention how beatiful and well crafted the juicer is, I have it sitting out on my counter along with my other stainless steel appliances and it looks great! Highly reccomended!
