Best Review on Handy Pantry HJ Hurricane Wheatgrass

This is my favorite juicer to date. I use it solely for wheatgrass - about 5 oz per day at one time. It is not tiring on the arm and I prefer it to the electric kind that pollutes the juice and the environment with the noice and vibrations.
This is the newest model by Hurricane. Their previous juicer has great reviews, but this model is a step foward and nearly perfect. It is by far the best maunual juicer available.
The clean up takes about 1 minute. Just unscrew the end cap; pull off the handle; pull out the gear; and rinse the cap, gear, and body under the sink. Simple with no mess.
Plus the pulp is very dry - meaning you get nearly 100% of the juice from the grass!
The best part is the price. You can't go wrong. This is the dedicated wheatgrass juicer to have!
P.S. Just make sure that you have adequate depth to your counter top to clamp the juicer on...
i'v used this juicer only a few times. i love it. it's the simplest manual wheatgrass juicer. it's extremely easy to assemble and take apart (for cleaning). from the first time i laid eyes on it, i knew it's a keeper. it's proper stainless steal which makes it super durable. it's a once in a lifetime purchase that will probably last for a lifetime. i highly recommend it!
BalasHapusHaving not been in the market for a manual juicer before, I was initially concerned about the price. After getting this juicer, I am glad I spent the money and it was worth every penny! The juicer is top notch quality throughout. All heavy duty and high quality stainless steel parts. Cleanup was a breeze and juicing wheatgrass was near effortless. After having this item in my hands and using it, I would have gladly paid more.
BalasHapusLove this. Only downside is the clamps don't spread open enough for a thicker tabletop.
BalasHapusThis is the best wheat grass juicer that I have ever had. The built is so solid, you don't have to worry about problems commonly seen in electric juicers. The operation is efficient, effortless and the clean up is very easy.
BalasHapusI'm really glad that I picked up something although a bit pricy but good quality product over items that are cheaper but soon could give you headache all the times.

The product design is simple, durable, easy to clean and it just works. I use it daily and it's solid construction will last a lifetime and then some.
BalasHapusI was hesitating about buying this machine but I'm so glad I did! I use it for juicing up my parsley, kale, chard and lettuce. I use my Breville juicer for the carrots, celery, beets, etc. Then I add them together and I have delicious healthy juice. I get more juice out of my greens by using the Hurricane wheatgrass juicer then the Breville but the Breville does excellent on my other vegies. This unit is so easy to clean up and very sturdy. I attach it to my cutting board and it works just fine! I found nothing at all wrong with this machine - it's wonderful! I highly recommend it!
BalasHapusI purchased the Jack Lalanne Juicer from a major retailer and was thoroughly disappointed with its "inability" to juice much more than an apple so forget about wheatgrass (it went back that same day)! While the Hurricane does take some elbow grease (manual labor), it's SO worth it! This thing can get juice out of darn near anything!
BalasHapusIn comparison, the Lalanne Juicer took about 20 minutes to properly clean-up, while the Hurricane is less than a 3 minute clean-up! Its Stainless Steel construction is awesome and I know it will last a lifetime!
As usual...delivery was FAST!
I almost listened to the guy here who gave this a negative review and I'm glad I didn't. This is exactly what I've been looking for. It's easy to use, easy to take apart, rinse and stash away. Wheatgrass is one of the true superfoods. I used to get a daily wheatgrass shot at Wild Oats (until Whole Foods came to town and put them out of business. I've never forgiven Whole Foods for taking away my wheatgrass). I heard so many bad things about electric wheatgrass juicers that I was afraid to try them and had been interested in a manual juicer for a long time. I think I got really lucky here because this is probably the best manual juicer out there.
BalasHapusWhen I first got it, however, I thought I had made a bad purchase decision. When I opened the package, I saw that the screen was already installed inside the juicer, so I just left it in there figuring it was supposed to be there. After 10 minutes of cranking, only a couple of drops of juice came out of the juicer. The only way to get anything green to come out was to pour water in the juicer. So, I did that for a couple of days and was going to give up on the juicer. Finally, I realized I should try removing the screen and as soon as I did, the juicer operated normally and produced juice within a couple of minutes.
A couple more points: Definitely run the pulp through again, there is still a lot of juice left in there. I find it really easy to just put a bowl under the juicer to catch the juice and just grab the pulp with my fingers when it comes out and put it on a plate. Then later I run the pulp through a second time.
Also, don't waste your time trying to juice vegetables with this, it's really made for wheatgrass. Anyone who has used wheatgrass for any length of time and knows the health benefits will be absolutely fine with that. The important thing to most of us is that we get our daily shot of wheatgrass juice.
I highly recommend this. You can be a complete beginner and learn how to operate this right out of the box. It's low tech and it's tiny (which is great because you can store it easily). It looks like it will last for years and years. I absolutely love it!
