Super easy and simple to clean

Metrokane Mighty Citrus Juicer Chrome

I purchashed this juicer about 4 months ago and wanted to give it some time before I gave my evaluation due to the mixed reviews it already has. After using it daily since I got it, I'm very happy with it overall.

For its size, the juicer has a very sturdy feel to it. The parts are all metal and it has a good weight to it that keeps it from moving around too much when using it. I decided on this particular juicer since I only intended to use it to squeeze lemons for lemon water. For that it is perfect the perfect size.

I use it once, sometimes twice, a day. The action is very smooth and the pressure gets all of the juice and some pulp from every lemon. Cleaning is a breeze as all the parts that touch the fruit and get messy just easily unscrew and lift off the main unit. The head piece is a bit trickier than the lower juice extractors, but not frustratingly so.

The only tiny negative is that juice extraction tray is rather flat instead of having a cone shaped angle and the extractor needs to be lifted out and the juice poured out over the side in the glass to get it all. But since I'm taking that off anway to rince it after I'm done, it doesn't warrant detracting a star, but it would be nice if all the juice emptied into the glass on it's own during the juicing process.

  2. I'm not sure why some people are having problems with large citrus. I just got a full glass of juice from a grapefruit; I quartered it like the manual told me to. I got this last year and have loved it. It's nice and heavy duty so it's very stable on the counter. Cleanup is very simple, you just pop off the metal funnel and squeeze plate and rinse them off then rinse off the whole juicer. I've never had a problem with this being hard to clean. I usually don't like "uni-taskers" in the kitchen but I couldn't imagine anything else being easier to use to juice citrus.

  4. My husband and I received the Might OJ as a wedding present in June 1989. It is well made and sturdy and continues to work like a champ! I use it to juice limes, oranges, and Ruby Red grapefruits. Grapefruits can be challenging but the juicer gets it done. It is perfect for making margaritas! A great kitchen tool that will last.
