Read First Before Buy Kuvings NS 850 Silent Upright Masticating
This is a great juicer. It gets a LOT of juice out of vegetables and fruits, and not too much pulp goes into the juice (though for silky smoothness, you'll need to strain it). If you have a farm share, this is just what you need. It works best if you put pieces in with the thickest part going down first. And use the plunger to push each piece through before you put in the next. And one more tip is to wash the juicer (using the brush they send you) as soon as possible, or submerge the removable parts in water--takes 5 minutes or less to clean a wet juicer; up to 30 minutes to clean it if you let the pulp dry out.
My husband and I had been using this juicer most days during the past 6 months, and were devastated when it suddenly broke this weekend. During a normal juice-making experience, there was suddenly a horrible ruckus, broken piece of plastic, and a dead motor. The Amazon return period had expired, but the machine was still under the company's 10 year warranty. They were extremely friendly when I called, offering to mail us a new motor and basin, as well as a return label for free shipping of the broken parts. We've loved the juice and probably couldn't have replaced the juicer, so we're very happy!
I've had this juicer for about 2 months and I love it. I have thrown everything at it and consistently get lots of juice. Keep in mind this is my first juicer, however, this thing really is a snap to clean, it runs quiet, and makes a good amount of juice. About the only fruit that produced moist pulp was a kiwi that was under ripe. Some times spinach and other leafy veggies are left in the juicer but in the instructions it mentions that you should follow fibrous items with non-fibrous and vice versa. When i have followed these instructions I have not had a problem; I find that carrots, and celery do a great job of "cleaning" out any other fruits or vegetables.
BalasHapusThe only negative thing I will mention is the plug for the pulp chute is tough to insert; I am able to press it in but my girlfriend does not always insert it fully. The partially inserted plug has not caused any leakage or otherwise degraded performance.
I think this has been a great first juicer and I would recommend it to anyone in the market. A friend of mine who bought a Breville commented on the quietness and ease of cleaning compared to hers. I can attest to the Kuving being quieter and I love that I can juice breakfast without waking up the entire house; as for cleaning I can only go by what she says.
The Kuvings 900 Silent Juicer arrived yesterday. It creates pulp free juiced and the extracted pulp is very dry! We tried it out right away and found the assembly was fast and easy. I am new to juicing and found the initiation to be free of frustration. I highly recommend this item!
BalasHapusI received my Kuvings 900 yesterday. I unpack the item one piece at a time. After thorough inspection of every parts, I can say the quality of the unit is paramount. I have search and compare juicer out there in the market place. The centrifugal type juicer was ok but cleaning the unit after use is tedious. The time spend time cleaning the unit after used is more than the time spend juicing = not efficient and poor design. The kuvings requires simple assembly and ready to juice. The PLUS: The pulp extract efficiently in the side, very low sound as advertised, juice effectively every bit of vegetables and fruits, quick to disassemble, easy to clean and dry, and BPA free. The MINUS: The price range of this juicer is in the expensive range. This would give the Kuvings 900 a value score of 8/10 where 1=cheap, 5= fair value, 10=extremely expensive. I am so happy of the purchase and expect this unit should last for years to come. Well folks, enjoy juicing and best of health.
BalasHapusI looked around online (AMAZON) for several months for a juicier. I didn't want to buy something cheap that is going to break down after couple month... I have a friend who recommended this juicer and oh man he was right.
BalasHapusPro:
1. Quiet!! I had other Juicers before but it was loud. After using this Juicer both my wife and I was amazed!!
2. Easy to assemble and clean. I think there is like 3 piece of things that you need to rinse out and 1 piece that you need to clean. it comes with this locking cleaning device which makes cleaning super easy. Putting back together is a breeze.
3. Safe and easy to operate. One button for on and off and (reverse). The machine is small yet feels very sturdy. It looks pretty good.
4. POWER!! I made juice from Carrots and apples this morning. It will crush hard carrots like running sharp knife through a warm butter!!! Juicer has no trouble whatever we throw in it!!
4. Efficiency!!!! Pulp is very dry. Meaning I am getting more juice!!
5. 10 year warranty. I am not sure what kind but just knowing gives me piece of mind!
Con:
1. None so far
I will recommend this to my friends and families. I am actually thinking about maybe purchasing additional one for my folk for Christmas.
I have been juicing a lot since receiving this juicer 3 weeks ago. I juiced apple, carrots, ginger, watermelon and even wheatgrass and beets. It was great!! This is my 2nd juicer. I originally had a Breville Juicer which is a good juicer too. Honestly, this new low-speed masticating type juicer works a lot better than the centrifugal type. Highly recommend it!

Just got it I will repost after a week of use! I had a the Kuvings Centrifugal Juicer it was ok but every time i used it it smelt like it was burning.
BalasHapusUpdate on 02 APR 2012;
I have had this juicer for two weeks now and might I say I LOVE IT! I can not compare it to the Omega juicer so I will not comment on it. I use the juicer everyday and I have not been disappointed, it will juice anything you want with ease; I have juiced beets, carrots, lemons, leafy greens, and so on. It does have some pulp in the juice which can easily be correct with a strainer, but I like a little pulp so that doesn't bother me. The only negative thing I can say is that it is a little expensive, but then again compared to others juicers in the same category it's priced about the same. I would recommend it to you and to my friends.
So far completely pleased! This machine is very well designed. Quiet, efficient and easy to clean. Juices anything and everything so far with nary a whimper. I bought the juicer to start a 'reboot' after watching 'Fat, sick and nearly dead'. (btw, great great documentary!). I myself fortunately am none of those but I believe in proactive health. I like the idea of a juice fast for a period of time. I also realized that I was thinking too much about this and doing tons of research to figure out juice combos and then I just started shoving things through. Everything is wonderful and tastes great. The only suggestion I have is that the machine have a bigger feeding tube. Although so far it hasn't been an issue and the only thing I had to cut up were apples and lemons. At any rate, I love this machine. Even the quirky English in the user manual. I highly recommend this juicer!
BalasHapusOh, update - only a few weeks into this, a piece broke off the juicing bowl while in use and flew across the room. I'm contacting the manufacturer and will wait to see how they respond. At the very least, I need a new juicing bowl. It concerns me that this would happen while in operation but if they respond promptly and appropriately, I will understand.
Customer service was handled beautifully! new juicing bowl - but do watch out for really rigid veggies like beets and make sure bowl is on there right -
i love this juicer! thanks kuving!

BalasHapusI decided to do a video review on the Kuvings juicer because I have never owned a juicer of this quality before. I wanted to test it to see if it lived up to the advertisement claims - in fact, it does! Great juice without my wife waking me up in the morning to a loud sound! Fabulous.
