Florida Girl with Citrus Trees Approved!

Best Review on Black Decker CJ525 CitrusMate Citrus

Black Decker CJ525 CitrusMate Citrus

I got this citrus juicer when Amazon lowered the price to $9.99 and let me tell you - what a STEAL! I have not been this happy with any product.

I buy oranges by the bulk now and make fresh squeezed orange juice with no pulp, a little pulp, or a lot of pulp, depending on my mood and usage!

Also, I recommend squeezing limes and lemons on this juicer and mixing it with white grape juice and some ice to taste - ALL NATURAL LEMONADE with no sugar added! This is how Jamba Juice makes their "all-natural lemonade" and that costs like $3.50 for a tiny cup - save yourself some money and do it this way! (This is USEFUL)

Warning: You MUST clean after every use, or the pulp hardens and sticks to the plastic parts and it just gets harder and harder to clean. Water might not be enough to get all the pulps out in the first place, so I recommend using a sponge or brush while running the parts under water to get all the gunk out. If you continue to do this, you will get great usage out of this product!

  2. This unit works through boxes of oranges effectively and quickly. You can toss the whole thing (except the base, which never the orange) into the dishwasher when you're done. Other reviewers note a grinding sound when you push down too hard. One would never need to apply such force though.

  3. Received this juicer in 2006 and didn't want to rate it right away as it was in my "testing stage" and it has passed with flying colors. It has 3 settings for thickness of the juice and if you like pulp like I do, it is the greatest. I was concerned about the juicer thoroughly cleaning out the fruit and no problem here either. Always concerned about motor strain but even to this date and almost a year later, it is running with precision and there doesn't seem to be any strain when juicing however I wouldn't press down too hard on the fruit as this little motor can only take so much. Recommend highly and you won't be disappointed!!

  4. I was in the appliance section of the store and I was trying to decide between the citrusmate and one that was only 5 dollars cheaper.

And then I saw that the CitrusMate has a separate smaller cone for lemons and lime, and since I was buying this thing to make my life a little bit easier while on the Master Cleanse diet/fast (a lemon and water concoction for 14 days), it was a given.

This is my first juicer, so I don't have a comparison for you, sorry, but I can definitely recommend it as an appliance just by itself. Very efficient in shredding the citrus fruit! It rotates both ways, to get the juice out efficiently. And the clean-up is a breeze.

After this lemonade fast is over, my diet will only be water and juice as far as beverages go, and this thing will be so much easier to use than my Jack la lanne juicing machine, when I just simply want a glass of fresh orange juice!

  5. This is a wonderful juicer--I thought it might be too slight since it is very inexpensive, but I bought it because the brand is good so we thought we would try it. It is plenty powerful enough but the wonderful part is that it is so quiet!! That is very hard to find in a juicer. We are so pleased we are buying a second one to have in reserve in case this one goes out of production by the time we wear it out--we live in Florida and use it daily for about 6 months of the year when oranges are in season.

  6. Wow! This has made my life easier. We make a lemonade out of 5 limes, 5 lemons, 5 oranges, 1 to 2 cups of sugar and water (Makes a gallon). It is so refreshing. Juicing the citrus fruits use to be hard and messy. We have done this by hand and when I saw this machine, I said have to have it and give it a try. Well, I used it today on a batch of lemonade and within 5 minutes the juicing was done and no mess. Washing it was quick and easy. EASY, EASY!!!!! We will be making juice drinks a lot more often now. LOVE IT!!!!!LOVE IT!!!!! Buy it and make your life easier!!!!!

  7. I looked for an electric citrus juicer for quite some time. I was most impressed by the one used by Ina Garten on Food Network. When I saw this and the price I was doubly impressed. This does everything I want and need and is very easy to break down and clean.
