Best Review on Waring PCJ2 Parent PCJ2 Citrus Juicer
I bought less expensive model that did not work from out of the box. Big disappointment and lots lof work handjuicing a bag of lemons.
This juicer works great, the kids can use it safely with a little instruction. We built a house this hot summer and used it several times weekly to juice several bags of lemons each time. It held up fine and continues to sit in my new kitchen being used regularly.
Do have to clean the pulp out often but once get the hang of grabbing it out don't even have to turn the motor off to do that.
My strainer is beginning to look less than white. Don't know if a little bleach would fix that or if it is a coating that is dulling.
Nice long chord handy if need the length kind of in the way if want it hidden to store on countertop.
Heavy enough to take pressure of juicing (even by kids who are not gentle) but light enough that I store it in a cupboard and take out to use it.
So glad I bought this.
BTW We make the greatest lemonade using 1 cup of lemon juice, 5/6 dropperfulls of liquid stevia and water for 1/2 gallon of lemonade. If don't want to do stevia, 1 cup of sugar perfect.
November 2012 still using this juicer regularly for my family of 7. Motor strong. Works great. The strainer finish did not continue to worsen, it just looks like a I use it rather than let it sit. I'm still thrilled with the amount of juice this device lets me pull from a lemon. So much more than by hand and with such little effort on my part. I wish all appliances were made with this same durability.

There are two very important things a juicer should do. 1) extract all the juice and b)clean up easily. This juicer does both. The manufacturer calls it slow, but I saw it as very powerful. By the time I juiced my second lemon, I was a pro happily throwing out completely empty half lemon rinds. It costs a little more than some of the other models, but it's also built to last. I'll probably end up having to put it in my will.
BalasHapusAfter trying unsuccessfully to find a small juicer for my wife to use locally, I found this Waring juicer at Amazon. It works great, and most importantly cleans up quick and easy. The motor is powerful enough to make quick work of any type citrus, but most importantly my wife can use it without too much strain on her arthritic hands. We love it.
BalasHapusI bought the juicer to handle a tree full of giant sized Ponderosa lemons (they're the size of grapefruit) that is getting ahead of me in lemon production. I juice the lemons and freeze juice in ice cube trays for later cooking -- but with a manual juicer and a hundred large lemons, my hands couldn't keep up. Enter the Waring juicer. Now all I have to do is cut, juice, and pour, and the thing goes through lemon after giant lemon with no problem at all. I've done juicing sessions of 1 hour at a time. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use all these cubes of juice!
BalasHapusMy mother loves fresh squeezed orange juice, but only had the little plastic manual hand one. I bought this one for her for christmas and although she was a little weary of it at first (ELECTRONICS) she is using it every day now.
BalasHapusThe juicer is big enough to squeeze grapefruits, oranges, and lemons/limes. It's easy to fit a tall glass under the juice dipenser and the clean up takes the same amount of time that the plastic manual juicer did. However, with this juicer you will get at least 25% more juice, there is no way you can squeeze dry an orange like that with your hands.
It's easy to use and powers up better if you press a little on the fruit.
I've had all kinds of juicers...this one is the best...simple,strong,compact..it does what it was made for: makes juice!!..I use it every day with 5 or 6 oranges in the morning...glasses fit under the lip where the juice comes out...no problems at all...buy it!
