Factory Reconditioned Breville XXJE95XL Speed Fountain

I'm on day 15 of a 30-day juice fast, so I was glad to receive this juicer at this point. Although this is a reconditioned unit, it looks just like new. It had a few scratches on the top plastic piece, but I am satisfied with it. There was no juicer pitcher included, however. But I'm not going to complain, considering everyone seems to have such problems with Breville customer service. I could return it to Amazon, but I probably wouldn't use the juice pitcher anyway. I just put my glass under the spout. I also didn't have an owner's manual in my box, but I read below in one of the reviews that it is available online.

I have an Omega 4000 juicer that's 4-5 years old. I wanted a replacement because the chute of that is so narrow that you can't put whole pieces of a lot of fruits and vegetables in it. I was sick of cutting everything up to put into the chute. This Breville juicer requires very little cutting because of the large chute. I have to clean 7 parts on my Omega, only 5 on the Breville (if you use the juice pitcher, you'd have 6 pieces to clean). It is very easy to clean.

I like the strainer basket in the Breville better than the Omega. It is woven more tightly. I love the scrubber brush that is included. It works better than the scrubber brush I had to remove particles in the strainer basket.

The unit is more attractive than my Omega juicer to keep on your kitchen counter. I like how the pulp container is fully enclosed so the pulp doesn't spray out when you're juicing. My Omega doesn't have an enclosed pulp container, and pieces were always spraying out.

The blade cuts fruits and vegetables so quickly and efficiently. And considering how quickly the juicer cuts things up, it makes less noise than my Omega.

I like how the spout is higher than my Omega spout, so I can put a taller glass under the spout.

I don't like how little particles of fruits or vegetables get caught on the blade and are hard to remove. This never happened with my Omega.

The pieces of this Breville are pretty cheaply made (cheap plastic, and the silver exterior pieces of the juicer are just painted silver plastic, not stainless steel or metal). The juicer is lighter and does not feel as solid as my Omega.

I do like the two speed option. My Omega only ran at one speed.

Overall, I'm a very satisfied customer! To save $60 off the price of a new juicer was worth it to me.

  2. I found this Juicer to be excellent and well worth the price. The large intake tube accepts everything I have wanted to juice without any cutting, while the powerful motor breezes through whatever it comes in contact with. I will also note that cleaning has not been an issue, I just run everything under the faucet, the dishwasher has not been necessary. Good buy.

  3. We bought the juices few months ago and we use it almost every day since. It is an absolutely great product.
My favorite jiuce is carrot + beet root + apple - all of them are hard but the juicer has no problem with any of them. You just need to use different pressure to push the vegetable thru the pipe, but the pulp cpmes out almost completely dry.
I would definetely recommend the product to everyone. In fact, 2 of my friends bought it after they saw it in my house.

  4. This juicer far exceeded my expectations. I chose Breville over the Jack Lalanne juicer because I heard bad reviews about Jack Lalanne's juicer. I had a champion juicer that a friend gave me to use, which is an industrial type juicer. The champion was a good juicer, but I was only able to juice a few things before I had to pull it apart and clean it out. With the Breville, I can juice several things before it requires cleaning. You can actually fill up the juice catcher before it needs to be cleaned. The only con about the machine is that you can only juice hard pieces of fruit/vegetables for 4 minutes, then you have to give it a 1-2 minute break before you can juice more. That's no problem though if you're like me and don't juice a lot of hard fruits, or vegetables. Other than that, this machine works better than a champion. It also has a very large neck, so you can juice an entire apple without having to cut it up. It's terrific! I am so happy with my purchase!

  5. Years ago I owned older Acme 5001 and recently Omega 8001. Acme was great, but it drove me crazy when I had to empty the pulp to continue juicing(this juicer doesn't eject the pulp). Omega was perfect for greens, but slow, so slow and when I juiced carrots I had to cut them forever. I saw Breville at my friend's and decided to give it a try. It just arrived today and I juiced my first half gallon of carrot-pepper-celery-ginger juice. The whole ordeal, together with cleaning, lasted 15 min. I didn't need to cut anything; extra-wide feed tube saves time. The price is fantastic, comparing to a new Breville. Although the juicer is "factory-reconditioned" it looks, smells and behaves like brand new.

  6. This juicer has two speeds, so I can juice anything at all. If you put a plastic bag in the pulp receptacle, 95% of it ends up there and you just throw it away. The plastaic just rinses off. I can juice an entire liter in about 5 minutes or less. A great bargain.

  7. This is my first juicer, and I've been very impressed with the results. Everything was in great condition and the machine has worked flawlessly. The recipe book is a little light, but that's what the Internet is for. I highly highly recommend this juicer to anyone.
